Steve Hibbert
Non-Executive Director

Steve Hibbert is Chairman and Non-Exec Director of many businesses including VR EPS Ltd and is the owner of Private Equity House Pinnacle UK. Steve brings to the VR team over 30 years of solid success within business. "When Martin presented the business plan to me in 2010, I backed it immediately as the passion, flair and determination to succeed was evident in the very first meeting. The VR team and their attention to detail is simply first class."

Rob Tam
Managing Director

Rob's experience within the motor industry spans over 20 years. He has always had a passion for cars and was even able to name every car on the road at the tender age of 5. Fresh out of college Rob started his career as a trainee Salesperson and quickly progressed through the ranks, achieving his first Sales Manager position at just 23. He brings a vast amount of knowledge and expertise from working with some of the world’s largest car manufacturers. Robs leadership qualities and main dealer background has provided the foundations to offer the very best customer experience. Robs qualities are based around the Japanese term "Kaizen" meaning "change for the better" or "continuous improvement." It is a Japanese business philosophy regarding the processes that continuously improves operations and involves all employees.

Martin Rylands
Sales Director/ Founder

Martin brings with him a wealth of varied knowledge having worked in the motor trade for over 19 years. He specialises in anything Italian (Ferrari being his true passion) but has experience working with a host of the world's most well-known sports and performance manufacturers. The VR name originates from Martin's family, a name that has become synonymous in the prestige automotive sector for offering the highest levels of customer service, with an honest and open approach to business. Martin sold his first Ferrari at the tender age of 24!!

Glen Mason
Director

Glen has always been around cars from an early age, selling cars and Motorbikes on Auto Trader (he actually advertised in the first ever Auto Trader magazine). From his home, at the tender age of 19, he started in the motor trade as a valater for a local car dealer and after 4 years with them he soon realized he was a great communicator and could sell cars. As soon as Glen had worked his way up through valeting to mechanical and service and then sales he then started his own car sales business with money he had saved and a little bank loan. Initially the Sales and Admin was taken care of by his then girlfriend's father (now his wife) who was an accountant then several years later they became business partners and had a successful car showroom for many years. Glen and Steve over the years became good friends and shared their passion for Cars, Speed Boats and Motorbikes, once Glens Father in law retired glen then had a business opportunity to acquire a Daily Car and Van Rental and Contract Hire and Leasing Company and he successfully built this over many years with the help of his two daughters.

Glen joined the company in May 2013 and has helped grow the company over the last few years to turning over in excess of £18 million per year as well as a reputation that is second to none for customer satisfaction and supplying only the very best vehicles, our ethos is to be the best and "nothing is too much trouble".

Dream Car: Ferrari California (Ducati Multistrada 1200 S DVT for a bike!)

"Having owned several motor trade businesses, I am extremely experienced and have close working relationships with many main dealers and prestige garages throughout the UK. Sam Wilson
Sales Manager

Sam joined the VR group in 2018 after leaving the Education and Sports Coaching Sector with a BA Hons degree in Sports Coaching.

Sam quickly developed within the sales environment, finding great pride in helping customers find their dream car. He has fantastic organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. Since joining us his attitude to learning has allowed him to progress into a professional advisor in a short space of time. We have high hopes for Sam in the future. Watch this space!

An avid sports person, Sam continues to play football semi-professionally whilst having a passion for other sports such as running, cycling and triathlons.

Simon Roberts
Sales Executive

Simon joined the team in 2021 after beginning his career in premium main dealers. Simon has always worked in the motor industry after studying Business economics and PE at Lymm. Simon has exceptional product knowledge of all things performance and prestige and has paired that with his expertise in consumer funding options.

Since starting, Simon has hit the ground running, helping customers into their dream cars ensuring that the experience is an exciting one.

Outside of work, Simon is an avid motorsport fan and can often be found watching the Formula 1 on a Sunday. Simon enjoys spending time walking his 2-year-old Spaniel called Ivy. During the week you will often hear him arguing with Joel the Media Specialist over who is the best driver!

Jack Hodgkinson
Sales Support

Jack joined the VR team in the latter half of 2021 as a complete newcomer to the motor trade. Whilst his experience within the trade is limited, Jack has a wealth of previous experience in both retail and administration roles and has completed a Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration, along with a BTEC in Customer Service. Jack has adapted this experience, along with his great attention to detail, to provide an excellent checking in process on all our vehicles, ensuring they are in the best condition possible when it's time for them to leave the showroom. In his spare time, Jack is an avid gamer and even applies his attention to detail to his hobby, often recreating our stock in various racing games.

Joel Rimmer
Media Specialist

Joel has held various roles since joining in 2016. Starting as vehicle technician through to vehicle preparation and then a short spell in sales. He has found his calling as Media Specialist enabling him to combine his personal hobby of photography with some of the most luxurious cars available. Joel produces all the fantastic videos and photographs for our website as well as handling our you tube channel and social media.

Chloe Patterson
Office Manager

Chloe joined the VR Team in 2014 shortly after coming home from working overseas in Dubai! She always desired supercars and saw VR as a great opportunity for a career change closer to home. Since she started, she has completed her NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Business Administration, Level 3 NVQ Business Management and has recently completed her AAT foundation certificate in accounting, Chloe continues to study towards her goal of becoming a fully qualified accountant in the next few years. When Chloe is not at the office, she enjoys socialising and personal fitness and wellbeing activities.

Elle Mae McCandless
Administrator

Elle-Mae joined VR in 2019 after finishing her A-Levels at college. She saw this as a great opportunity for a career in business, especially with the prestigious environment of supercars. Since she joined, she has competed her QFC Level 2 diploma in Business Administration and her NFCE Level 2 qualification in ICT. Elle is also currently working towards her Level in Business Administration. Elle-Mae looks after all the personalised registration transfers along with invoicing and vehicle administration. Elle has become an invaluable member of the team ensuring that all aspects of the customer's buying experience is perfect.

Phil Gannon
Smart Repair Technician

Phil has over 25 years' experience in the motor trade, working with various main dealers around the Northwest. He currently runs our VR Smart Repair facility ensuring all minor paint corrections are completed to manufacturer standards. Phil has been working with cars since studying his City & Guilds in Body Welding and Repair. Phil has since received an incredible senior ATA Accreditation in Paintwork. He also has an IMI Accreditation in Mechanical, Electrical, Trim. Phil is also the proud owner of a classic 1989 XR31 Convertible Ford Escort which he is restoring in his spare time!
